My take on IronMan

Hey, you think I must be crazy to be so into IronMan. Don't you? Well, I'm just really blown away by the fact that I did win something out of our assignments after all, and I'm not meaning just marks and a diploma(although, it should be primary) .

Anyway, here's my take on the IronMan movie after watching the gala premier a day earlier than the rest of Malaysia. Thanks to Cherry for accompanying me. Got there kinda early, had dinner and met up with my cousin Pietro and Joanne who was there to catch IronMan too.

Me and Cherry. Btw, if you're wondering, we're just friends. I wouldn't want to be in trouble with her Karate chopping boyfriend. Haha, just kidding.

Well, just to tell you that it was a fun time spent at Cineleisure. Though, I don't think I would ever go back there for a movie, the cinema sucked. All the time I thought it was an awesome cinema to go to coz the lobby and ticket counters area were so sophisticated. But the fact is that, the moment you start entering the cinema, it really...ugh! Everything was just wrong. Maybe it was the rush of people somehow at that moment. What I didn't like was the fact that we had to leave our electronics outside the cinema with them, including mobiles and cameras. Then at the check in, they actually scan you like at the airport. Even my car keys got detected. And the entrance was so small, like my room door and everyone was rushing to catch their movie in time. Then in the cinema, the steps were so kinda steep. At least it was well lighted, in fact too much light, it was shining in my eyes before the movie started that it gave me a slight headache. Oh wait let me go back, I didn't even like the popcorn packet. It was like a simple folded paperbag. At least GSC or TGV gives you a cardboard packet.

They call it the Gala Premier...

My movie ticket

So, managed to get in the cinema anyway and the Hitz.fm guys started announcing the winners for the contest. Adam C announced my name and presented me the prize. It was a "Hasbro IronMan Stark Industries N.R.F 425 Blaster" which really translates to a bloody big toy gun for me.

Bloody Big Toy Gun?

So anyway, the movie was awesome. It did live up to its trailer. Although, I didn't quite like the starting. It was a little plain and not creative introduction. You know where they start showing the cast names. The best laugh I had was when the translation/subtitle for IronMan showed ORANG BESI! LMAO!

I would say that if you have been reading the synopsis and story on characters online, you would have a hard time figuring out the baddie in the movie. If you hadn't, then I guess you would've pretty easily guessed the bad guy.

It was totally awesome to see the technology portrayed in the movie. Dig this, individual lab robotic arms which understands human speech, and I'm not saying like keywords kinda speech, but everyday informal speech. And there was a computer system which could work for men, help bulid the suit and some building technology which is so cool if you were a tech freak.

The fight scenes were almost like transformers only on a smaller scale, but I must say, the flight scenes and the missile shooting were out of this world.

I would recommend this movie to all those who loves superhero action coz this has a slight possibility to believe in. I mean, it could happen. For me, watching it again, I say why not. I would. Hope you enjoy the movie.

Officially, my first movie review on my blog is done.

Exams over!!! IronMan's here

YESS!!! Exams are officially over, and now just waiting to graduate and get my diploma. Finished at 11 am this morning.

Oh, it wasn't a perfectly great morning after that anyway. You see, the exam venue this morning was in block PA, and only cars with staff car stickers were allowed to park around there. Well, I thought guards would be busy patrolling the halls instead of clamping or chaining cars who parked illegally. Well, from where I sat in the hall today, I could very well see my car and 20 minutes into the exams, I could already see a pink coloured paper on my windscreen. I was like oh damn. My car's got chained!! After that, the exam mood was lost and I kept staring out my window. Anyway, manage to do it well.

After exams, went out of the hall and true enough some of my friends cars got chained and fined. I quickly went to check my car and was surprised it wasn't chained. Then I realised my rims has hole which are too small for the chain to go thru!! Woohoo!!! (Another proud moment for owning a KANCIL!) LOL!!!

Oh by the way, guess what happen yesterday? I got a call from hitz.fm saying I won two tickets to watch IronMan tonight!!! Its Tuesday the 29th!!! Gosh, a sneak premier?! I'm gonna be one of the first in Malaysia(probably the world) to watch it!!!

Oh, maybe I should tell you how I won or else you'll be thinking I got help from my cousin again. Well, I was bored after studying two days ago, I surfed the web and thought hey, since IronMan's going to premier, surely Hitz.fm or Mix.fm's running some contest. So I went to http://www.hitz.fm/ and true enough they had an IronMan competition going on. Now, I did have quite some faith in these online contests coz I won a few things before.

The contest page on the website

So, what I had to do was either draw my IronMan interpretetion or create an IronMan feature such as a gun, a mask or even a suit. And then I was thinking, why put out effort last time to waste? I submitted a photo of ou IronMan suit which we made for our assignment. Great!

The photo I submitted to win

So anyway, I'm in the running to win some prizes(IronMan merchandises, toys from Hasbro and IronMan T-shirts) and they will announce the winners tonight at Cathay Cineleisure Damansara.

Gosh, so lucky.

Birthday celebration number 2

Hey, its been four days since this happened, but its just that I couldn't compile all the photos and videos til now and I haven't been too free myself. So, this was my birthday/BBQ party. I invited all my classmates from DPR2 B2 in TARC, some of the youths from church and of course the Rampai/WangsaMaju gang. LOL.
The Rampai/WM gang(dawgs). Can you spot the B2s?

Everyone...well, almost

B2gethers. Can you spot the Singh?

Dawgs again, oh wait, got some gals there...

Well, nothing really much to say, I'll let the photos and videos do most of the talking here. You can get more videos from www.youtube.com/user/emiliov89
Almost everyone again

Me & my gals! Oh wait, there's KK, TokeHeang and silly blurred out Roshen. Can you spot the Singh?

B2gethers. Can you spot the Singh and Skeleton?

The Rukun Tetangga hall opposite my house

Had it at the Rukun Tetangga opposite my house. Roughly about 40-50 people turned up. Not big enough though, But I'll save the big one for the big 2-1. Two years more. I decided to celebrate big this year coz it was also the end of my diploma and most of my classmates will probably be splitting ways. Coincidently, my aunt Desy and David was visiting from England. Invited my couz, Pietro too. You know, just to have some celebrity news value for my party. Nah just kiddin'. =P
My couz, Pietro, My aunt Desy, My bros and David

That's my couz, Pietro barbecuing some meat

The Good Sheperd Youths. Can you spot the Singh again?

I underestimated the amount of food so, luckily it was pasar malam night, my dad drove out to get more meehoon.

Family photo time

The party lasted for about 3-4 hours. I was really happy this time celebrating. I dunno why, I just had this real good, fun and likeable feeling. I was so 'terharu' with all my friends la.

That's cake in my face, Thank You.

Like I'm a celebrity whose just been slimed on Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards, only, that's cake and cream not slime

Kanages, Vivian, me and Seng Yew

I have to put a special thank you to the Rampai gang for helping me set up before the party and clean up after. Had some crazee time onstage while cleaning up, that was after everyone had left. I had burned this mp3 cd with more than 10 hours of playing time, so there were alot of songs to sing and dance to. After that, we ajourned to my house for a lil drinking session. Silly me only bought 2 bottles of vodka, and none of the rest brought any booze. Wanted to go out and buy, but everyone was like, "No Money Laaaah". So juz finished the 2 bottles and some leftover soft drinks.

Breaking Free, by Roshen and Boriz
So you thought its ended? No wait, there's still the present opening! Yeah! (Like a lil' kid) Well, I opened it in my room la, personally. Wow, I've got to say, my friends sure know what exactly to get for me. Original Adidas sling-bag and sports bottle, some decorative stuff for my room(ship in a bottle, wise words on a glass frame), a diary(hmm, maybe I should write instead of type), a S-sized white Giordano tee(Oooh, I dig tight shirts), a super cool looking guitar pick, a Nothern Rock belt(just when I was thinking of buying one), Cadbury chocolate bars(they help too, indulgence) an Arsenal/vanPersie pillow and best of all, an ARSENAL jersey(This is from ma dawgs, Ken and the rest)
My presents!!!

Yeah...those are angpows bebeh
Oh oooh wait! Don't forget the 'AngPows'.... LoL!

Birthday Celebration number one

I was pretty surprised when my classmates threw an early lunch/birthday celebration for me, PeiLee, JiaWei and Joseph on Monday. Too bad Joseph wasn't around, although his name was on the cake. hehe.
Only me got 19, the rest is 20 hehe. I'ma lil boy!

After makan

I didn't know it would be so many people. About half the class. So after class finished at 2pm, we ajourned to this little 1st floor restaurant called Little Tree in Prima Setapak area. Really cozy nice place. The deco was awesom and authentic. They had like funny lil chinese instruments like bells, an old typewriter, the wall deco was awesome, an old patchwork blanket(something like the 1st blanket I had sewed by my grandmum), some playable guitars on the wall and a piano. I enjoy la, got guitar, piano all, hehe. Even had a short jamming session with Tasya. LoL.

Me & Tasya on the piano

Well, it was a birthday, so the birthday fellas sure kena la. I got my face squashed into the cake.

But its all good. I'm ok. hehe. My classmates even treated the birthday fellas lunch.(If I knew earlier, I would have ordered the chicken chop-haha, joking only ah).

Anyway, I really enjoyed myself.
Thank You Guys! Really appreciate it!

PC Fair

Hello dear readers,

Main Samsung Booth

Yes, the PC Fair has just ended in KL. I managed to get a job there. First time working at the PC Fair. Worked for Samsung selling laser printers. Not a bad deal too. Got paid RM100 per day and also extra commission. Well, had to just stand around the booth, shout and promote, talk to customers and explain to them about the printer. And if they decide to get one(or two or three), then I have to pack it up, paste the sold sticker and that's all. Although, standing whole day does take its toll on my feet. Was so pain after the second day. I almost lost my voice too from all the talking and shouting.

Ken and I

On the third day, was lucky enough to be placed at the main Samsung booth, so got to see some pretty 'leng luis'.

A girl I met there, name's Stephanie.

After finishing work on Sunday, quickly rushed off to BRJ to catch the match between ManU and Arsenal although, I don't feel like elaborating more on the game. Felt like there were only 2 Arsenal supporters at BRJ, me and Suthen, coz everyone was cheering when ManU scored. Oh well, its officially over now. Only Chelsea is able to overtake ManU for the title now.

Also, my birthday is coming up, so I guess its about time to change my blog heading eh?

Gajah Tunggal?

Whaddup my readers? Thought I'll throw in a few more photos of our IronMan since me n my group spent so much effort on it. IronMan looks pretty nice in the photos.

Anyway, today went for lecture early coz Annie asked me to fill up a survey for her. Freaking long survey, I took almost an hour to finish it, while copying lecture notes. These days, its all about multitasking eh? So, the survey was about car tires. The brands, the attributes and so on. I didn't freaking know there were so many brands although I knew most of em. For example, I've never heard of Goodrich. And like which freaking tire company has the name Gajah Tunggal?!?! An elephant doesn't even have wheels.

Hey, but answering the survey was worth it. As a reward from her marketing research company, Annie passed me a RM20 Jusco voucher after finishing it. Hey, not a bad deal at all. After all, I was just wasting my lecture time. Hehe.

Last night, the talk alot gang went for the follow up job briefing again at Samsung office in PLaza Sentral. We were like already late coz stupid Roshen was only waking up when we were leaving. And that was 5PM!! No, it wasn't his afternoon nap, he slept since the wee hours of the morning. Crazy nocturnal! To make matters worse, the LRT had some technical problems and was stuck at Ampang Park station for about 10 mins. Finally arrived 10 mins late. But no prob, the Samsung guy was pretty friendly. And he wasn't all that punctual anyway. 2 hours briefing, then headed off to Steven's for dinner and pool.

Oh yea, Steven's Corner is like going high tech now. The higher ranked waiters now carries these PDA's, which they use it to place orders, and its ONLINE! We were ordering, and this guy was tapping away at his PDA. He repeated the orders and said okay, all ordered. Just as he was leaving the table, another guy came with the drinks. We were like...*hi-tech mamak*? -.- But I think they need more practice, coz they were freaking slow, and he accidentally tapped in one extra ais-kosong. Then Roshen joked, "so now the guy will bring a laptop to calculate the bill?" "Yea", I added, "a built-in Dell PC"(Get what I mean??) No? Forget it. Works better while I'm talking.

IronMan with his Asadi slippers

Oh wait, that’s not true. IronMan’s made out of iron even his boots and Asadi is just a Malaysian interpretation of Adidas. Crap, wait! Asadi is actually an official brand of footwear?! Can’t they think of a better name? Maybe something like...A-hole-Dee! Oops, I’m sorry. I’m just being rude now right? Well, I’m just really unsatisfied with my Asadi slippers. Expensive and uncomfortable even after biting it.
Hey, I can talk about my assignment now! Whee... so fun. So, we were suppose to create a few PR(Pubic Relations...LOL) events for both the upcoming IronMan Movie and the shitty Malaysian brand of footwear, Asadi. I’d rather wear Bata. Oh wait, what was that? Bata’s not a local brand? Really?
So we continue. Yes, we needed to write a proposal for each event, after that, prepare a simple news release and take mock photos of the event for the media. The funniest( I mean most fun) part of the whole thing was of course the photos! Gawd, we had some really funny and embarrassing experiences.

Yes, smile for the camera.

Well, for Asadi, we proposed to have a kite flying competition. However, to promote the line of slippers by Asadi named ‘Ultralite’, we decided to have a little twist by making it the First Ever Slipper Attached Kite Flying Competition. (Remember, these are all fake, okay?) Drove to Taman Metropolitan Kepong with Cherry, Crystal and Hema the first time and then with Basil too the second time. By the way, great place to go fishing or fly kite.
Went there twice coz we thought our photos didn’t really turn out right the first time. Anyway, we drove there the first time in my SLK(Small Little Kancil). Got there and it was raining already. Luckily it stopped raining after a while. Quickly bought a kite. Asked the guy for the biggest kite he had, and it had to be shaped like a bumblebee.(Pretty cheap though, only RM20) So we had fun trying to fly the kite. The wind that day was pretty shitty. And with the slippers attached, kinda embarrassing coz everyone was looking at us. A little girl came up to us and asked us “kenapa nak pasang slipar kat layang-layang?" And with selamba’ness’, we answered “oh, takde, buat projek sains”. Anyhow, we manage to take some believable pictures with great flying kites in the background. Some of the people there had damn nice kites. I especially like the one with the spinning tail.

The pro kite flyer, Crystal.

So many kites.....

Our second trip there was a week later. Just had to get a prize giving ceremony shot. Drove ther in my Kancil again. (With all the pride and boldness, LOL) Got there early trying to beat the rain. I guess the rain had its own ideas. Fixed my new kite which I bought, the spinning tail one, flew it, and before I could finish releasing my kite string, down came big drops of rain. Curses... So we decided to just take the photo under a tent and get home. And, that’s for Asadi.

Me and my gals, check it out...

Just FYI, IronMan the movie is premiering 30th of April. For IronMan, we proposed to tie up with Petrosains in KLCC to sponsor some abused children for their Robotix program. It’s a robot building program, testing their creative and inventive abilities just like how Tony Stark aka IronMan was a genius inventor. Wow, we really put our heart and soul into this, man! (Just a kind reminder, our events are all fake and strictly for educational purposes)
The night before, Cherry, Crystal and I stayed up through the night at Crystal’s place. The girls were busy sewing the IronMan suit, while I was preparing the banner. Had to do it coz we decided last minute to take the photos the next day. But all in all, was a success. Slept over at Crystal’s after finishing. Yes we did manage to sleep, at 5.30am. Woke up at 9 or so.

Supposedly, this is how they sleep in space.

In the afternoon, the three of us including Hema and Basil, took a trip into Petrosains before our ‘abused children’ arrived for the photo session. Went into Petrosains to take some mock photos, whatever we could fake. Wow, after so long not being in Petrosains, really was fun. I especially liked the glow-in-the-dark part of the dark ride. Too bad cameras were not allowed during the dark ride coz my white Nike shoes were glowing in the dark, and it was so damn cool.

'Syiok sendiri' in the wind tunnel

Yes, keep smiling for the camera, even if you are sleeping.

WooHoo, I'm in space!!! I'm an Astronaut. Or maybe just a 'CanOrNot?'

Our ‘abused children’ arrived later for the photo session outside Petrosains. Well, actually, they are all my friends. Thanks a lot guys! Couldn’t have done it without you:
Ken, Boris, Daniel and Juyi.
We all posed for the photo with the one and only IronMan(really, was Basil in it). I was like damn embarrassed coz there were so many passers-by. You know posing with the fake banner. Just as IronMan walked out from the fire exit area into the mall, we were like “OH MY GOD!!! and WHAT THE F**K!?!, THIS IS EFFING EMBARRASSING!!”. Luckily the security guard allowed it coz Crystal asked him so nicely earlier. We quickly snapped the photos, and IronMan quickly went into ‘hiding’ and changed back into his secret identity. Basil, YOU DA MAN!!! I salute you for doing that. Even if I was getting like a thousand dollars for doing that, I wouldn’t have the balls to do so. Hey, thanks a lot Basil, we really owe you one, really. Would you like a dinner?

IronMan and the 'abused teens'. LOL

Anyway, after IronMan was gone, stupid Daniel was like, Hey, go tell the guard, sekarang Spiderman keluar”. Bloody good joke though.
The photos turned out not too great, coz the one where IronMan’s face looked real, he was standing behind and when he was standing in front, it was crumpled. Oh well, live with it coz it ain’t gonna happen again. No No. Not another photo shoot again. The public watching us even took photos of their own, just hope it doesn’t end up in the Star or something.
Developed the photos, and handed in the assignment today, with all the stress and anxiety too. Relieve. Oh wait, there’s still one more to go. ACTION PLAN!!!

I won again!

Woke up at mid-day today(yes, I know bad habit), and there was a parcel waiting for me. GDex brought it and on the register was printed Sony BMG as the sender. At the moment I knew, I won another contest again!!! Quickly opened the parcel, and out popped 3 CDs. Carrie Underwood's Carnival Ride, Blake Lewis' Audio DayDream and Jordin Sparks' self titled album. Wow, 3 in 1. I was like, that's a lot, damn!
Bloody GDex delivery cracked all three CD covers

Well, I posted a contest form out from Galaxie magazine. Actually posted a few, but only won this. Good enough. I was really surprised I won considering the fact that I posted it the evening before the closing date and it was a public holiday. Didn't think I would still make it, was just trying my luck.

Come to think of it, I'm really quite lucky when it comes to this kind of contests. So far I have won a Fall Out Boy album, a The Killers album and T-shirt, 2 tickets to Live & Loud last year(really good deal), 2 tickets to the sneak preview of The Gameplan, and a few more other little things. Well, some of them I have to thank my cousin in Hitz.fm and Mix fm. (Oh wait, supposed to keep it quiet, ssshhhh).

Anyway, I woke up this morning with aches in my legs coz yesterday jogged with Ken and my bro for like almost 3km. Really unfit man.... Today, they jogged without me coz my legs just couldn't stand it.

Well, other than that, a pretty normal day for me, went to organ class and started on a new grade. Whiush, kinda hard la this new grade.

Oh yea, Arsenal drew again with Liverpool. Totally sad. It seems like the chance of winning the EPL title has just flown out the window. Anyway, its 1-1 for the Arsenal-Liverpool Trilogy. Final showdown will be in 3 days time and I really hope the Gunners can whoop 'LiverFool's' ass at Anfield.

Freaking get a Rubik's cube, Nerd!

Funny heading right? Considering the fact that I am not a nerd(kononnya) Nola, it's just that I just bought a rubik's cube, you know, the cube that has 6 colours and almost impossible to solve. The world record is like 10 seconds or something, crazy la weyh. Actually, got interested in it after watching the movie 'In Pursuit of Happyness'. Pretty good and meaningful movie that.

Anyway back to this. I bought my rubik's cube for RM5 only at a shop at Desa Parkcity. New housing area, and pretty high class too. Seen it a hundred times from the North-South Highway, didn't really think it was that close to my Aunt's place in Kepong. A lake, a park and a mini-mall surrounded by different sections of guarded compound houses each with a different distinct design. The names thay give each section was also unique: Adora, Levenue, Southlake, Safa, Zenia, etc....
So back to my story again, I think I sould have bought a better cube la, this always get stuck, not smooth la. But I'm so proud to say that I managed to solve my first rubik's cube two days ago. Wheee!!! Well, with the help of a youtube video of course....but still, almost impossible weyh... But now can do it on my own and my current record is about 10 mins. Pretty far from 10 seconds eh?

My finished Rubik's Cube, notice the notes...

So, YES!!! Heavy assignments finished. Took some pretty photos, though I can't post it out yet coz its currently P&C. After everyone else has done and handed in, then only release or else I may just be giving free inspiration to other students. So nothing much to talk about now except the fact that I stayed overnight at Crystal's to finish up the stuff and only got 2 or 3 hours sleep. Now really freaking tired. But I will still continue typing for you. I Will Survive. LOL!

In the midst of assignment stress, I still managed to catch the 1st episode of Prison Break Season 3 on 8TV on Monday. Really happening series. Got really hooked on it since Season 1. Hope this season will be more exhilarating although only until Episode 13. Stupid writer's strike in Hollywood. Hope it will end soon and Heroes can continue.

The cast of Prison Break season 3. I can already see 4 new characters here.

Yesterday(Tuesday), went for a job interview with Ken, Roshen, Boriz and Daniel. Some more was April Fool's day, so as usual, we all trying to prank each other. Anyway, went to Plaza Sentral for PC Fair job interview. It was a group interview. 23 people in the room, only the five of us non-chinese educated. So as usual, we, the talk alot group, surely talk alot la, which is good for the interview. Straightaway got the job later in the night. Haha.

Well, that's all for now. When the deadline for assignments is over, then I'll reveal what we did for our assignments that was so fun, tiring, embarrassing and 'expensive'.
