Towards Easter

Oh the youths. Great job carrying out two successful events in preparation for Easter. Glad to have been part of the team.

Overnight Vigil 2009

Just as last year, only bigger and better. This time we had youths as young as 13 joining us and also youths from St Josephs. A total of about 150 people tried to stay up throughout the night all for the glory of God. Honestly, we under-estimated the number of prticipants. We were only targeting 50-70. I myself was panicky when I saw the list a day before.

As usual, I helped in the music department. :D This time we had the support of the St Joe guys, with another keyboard to play backups. Awesomeness! Praise and worship as usual. But seriously, by the morning, I was just to sleepy. C'mon, I haven't been sleeping well throughout the week due to work. And now I gotto stay up whole night? I actually played the wrong song la, lost concentration ady. So embarassing. Hahah.

The Praise and Worship Team

The crowd was good, although a there were a lil' problems here and there. No big deal. Activities went according to plan although a lil' timing problem. Here are some photos of the activities such as washing of the feet, a skit, praise and worship, games and so on.

A little note to my dear friends here,

In this holy season of lent, let us remember how our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. Humbled himself, took all our sins and the sins of the whole world upon his shoulders. God most mighty, chose to be man, persecuted by His own creation, the very people He loved so much that He was willing to give His life.

As we await the coming of our Lord this Easter, let us do all that we can to spread the Good News of what is to come. Let us share this joyous occasion with those who have yet to know God, to experience his Love.

I believe that in each one of us, we know, and we should search for that one special place in our heart which we can put Jesus, above all other earthly matters. Let that little Jesus in our hearts remind ourselves that whatever we do, we do for the Glory of His precious name and not for our own gain.

We can be proud of what we have achieved, but be proud for the right reasons. Be proud of the fact that we know we have done our best in glorifying God and NOT because we have proved to others that we can do it. Be proud of the fact that we have spread the good news to others, NOT because we have shown others we know about God better than them.

Last but not least, be proud of the fact that our Lord Jesus Christ listens to us, watches over us, cares for us, lives in us and LOVES us!

Remember that it is in God's name that we have become who we are today, as an individual and as a community.
