She is Beeeautiful

Yep, last night was awesome. Went to watch Marie Digby(pronounced Ma-ree-eh) in 1 Utama with Ken, Roshen and Ching Chien. The place was packed with people(well, it wasn't that big an area) but YES, thanks to my cousin, Pietro once again, we got VIP passes. We got to stand in a 'special zone' in front and got autograph priorities, so didn't have to line up like refugees.(Oooh, that's a lil' harsh eh?)

Marie performed a few songs including my favourite, 'Stupid for You' and of course, 'Umbrella'. She was beautiful, and her voice is so sweet. Ish, didn't even get to greet her coz I didn't buy a CD*grinning*, therefore, couldn't get her autograph at all. But Ching Chien did. So the passes was worth it. Ken caught one flying poster when they were throwing out freebies. Thanks to him for giving it to me. hehe.

There was one song though which was really soft and boring and I swear I could've slept standing if it was not for Roshen's great big mouth. He was commenting out loud everything but in a way was good coz it kept the situation interesting. So when she was explaining about how she came to write this song, she said GAP called her and asked her to write a song about the colour yellow for their advert campaign. And she was saying that she thought hard and drew inspiration from things that were beautiful and yellow like the beach, the sun. And here goes Roshen saying out loud : BANANA!! People around started laughing. But it was all good.

Oh btw, we stopped at the newly opened Wisma Bentley Music in Mutiara Damansara earlier. Thought it was a great chance to check out their new headquarters(Previously in Bukit Bintang). The new place is supposedly Asia's largest music instrument store. I didn't think it was that big but I was drooling away while 'washing my eyes' on those good stuff. Fender, Ibanez, Tama, Boss, ooohhh, drooling away. Well, my saliva went the opposite direction and back down my throat when I looked at the prices. Though there was something we could afford. Guitar picks, haha. Roshen bought 3, and it was kinda embarrasing coz it was the manager helping us out.

Anyway, after Marie's show, we headed to Hartamas before dropping Ching Chien back home. He introduced us to the best shisha we ever tasted at Uncle Don's. Supposedly a mamak but the place sucked. Oh yes the environment was high classed and all but the food sucked and the price was..err.. 'high classed'. Well, it is a high class area. We had the laugh of our lives when Roshen asked for sambal and the guy brought chopped green chillies. I mean like, how dumb can they be? Anyway, to end a great night, pooled for a while at Breakers.

Marié Digby Live in KL

I'm so booking a place in the front rows. Marie Digby's gonna be at One Utama this Wednesday at 8pm. All fans, this is the best time to catch a glimpse of her I guess. Its free coz its just a showcase and not a full concert.

I was just mesmerized by her when I first saw her on Youtube. Her mum is Japanese and her dad is Irish-American. Her songs are awesome, her voice is sweet yet powerful. Her acoustic versions of great songs like Umbrella(Rihanna), What I've Done(Linkin Park) is just 'purrfect'. Her own songs are also good, I loved Stupid for You.

By the way, since I have no more Heroes or Prison Break to follow, I found a new show to watch. Entourage. Its about lives of the rich and famous in LA and they get lots of big stars to act too. Jessica Alba, Mandy Moore, Jimmy Kimmel, and lots more. And the best is they're acting as themselves. I find it funny though, like they can't act their own life out. I feel like its too fake. Funny eh?

Simon : David(Archuleta), you didn't beat the competition tonight; you crushed the competition.

This week's Idol show probably was the best David Archuleta ever performed. Choosing songs which are simple yet strong and popular such as Stand By Me and Love Me Tender(Elvis Presley), he was smart enough to even throw in a line of Beautiful Girls(Sean Kingston) into Stand By Me. That one simple line probably earned him another few thousand votes from young fans(especially girls).

Syesha was arguably the second best for the night, I personally think her Tina Turner copycat performance was awesome and professional. Her other song, A Change is Gonna Come is one of those songs which needs alot of raw vocal power and emotions, and she pulled it off with extreme emotions.

David Cook was okayh, but I also agree with the judges he didn't do enough with the songs to be remembered.

Jason jason jason...finally you're leaving. We're gonna miss you...not!!! Wonderful arrangement you did with I Shot The Sheriff. Its a song, perfect on its own and you change it only to make it...worse. And forgetting your lyrics??? =UNFORGIVABLE. So yes, bye Jason.

The results show was brilliant too. Maroon 5's performance was great, can't get enough of Adam Levine. And Bo Bice, you're back after some surgery stuff you had to undergo. His take using that funny mic/guitar effects was better than David Cook.

And yes Simon, you probably could be knighted but James Bond....puh-leeze....

The Avengers spoiler

Ohwmagawd!!! I can't believe I missed this at the end of the IronMan movie. Its a surprise ending for those who actually read the credits I guess. Lesson learned: sit in the cinema till you are sure the movie has ended(including the long and boring credits).
I think they the creators put a great deal of effort in the IronMan movie plot and story. And I'm guessing they have also planned on doing so in the upcoming movies from Marvel Studios, can't wait.

Yo Mamma......

When I woke up this morning, I turned on my radio and JJ & Rudy were talking about 'yo mamma' jokes. Well, it is Mother's Day this weekend. They even made one more of their parodies just for that special day. And I was thinking, hey why don't I share with you something I downloaded ages ago. It is pretty darn funny. It really is something classical but there's always something new you could add to it.

I have some of my own:

1. Yo mamma so heavy that when she stands in the field, a crater is formed.

Its been a while....

...since I wrote stuff about American Idol.\

Yep, even missed writing about Idol Gives Back. But then again, this year's Idol Gives Back wasn't as good as last year's. Anyway, this week, Brooke's out. Sad. But then again, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone except the two David's were eliminated. Although, I really wish Jason's end would come soon.

This week, Top 5 show, and Paula was drunk. Oh yes she was, no denying it. C'mon, how absent minded could she be to give comments about a 2nd song which they haven't even sung?

Right now, everyone seems pretty on the same level. It could be anyone's crown now.

God, Simon kissed at the age of 9? Tara Miller wasn't it? His first crush called in to the show and spoke with him live. haha, what an 'emotional' joke.

Well, enough about American Idol. I finally found the soundtrack to the IronMan movie. It got stuck in my head since I watched the trailer. Pretty happening song. Its by Black Sabbath titled IronMan.

My take on IronMan

Hey, you think I must be crazy to be so into IronMan. Don't you? Well, I'm just really blown away by the fact that I did win something out of our assignments after all, and I'm not meaning just marks and a diploma(although, it should be primary) .

Anyway, here's my take on the IronMan movie after watching the gala premier a day earlier than the rest of Malaysia. Thanks to Cherry for accompanying me. Got there kinda early, had dinner and met up with my cousin Pietro and Joanne who was there to catch IronMan too.

Me and Cherry. Btw, if you're wondering, we're just friends. I wouldn't want to be in trouble with her Karate chopping boyfriend. Haha, just kidding.

Well, just to tell you that it was a fun time spent at Cineleisure. Though, I don't think I would ever go back there for a movie, the cinema sucked. All the time I thought it was an awesome cinema to go to coz the lobby and ticket counters area were so sophisticated. But the fact is that, the moment you start entering the cinema, it really...ugh! Everything was just wrong. Maybe it was the rush of people somehow at that moment. What I didn't like was the fact that we had to leave our electronics outside the cinema with them, including mobiles and cameras. Then at the check in, they actually scan you like at the airport. Even my car keys got detected. And the entrance was so small, like my room door and everyone was rushing to catch their movie in time. Then in the cinema, the steps were so kinda steep. At least it was well lighted, in fact too much light, it was shining in my eyes before the movie started that it gave me a slight headache. Oh wait let me go back, I didn't even like the popcorn packet. It was like a simple folded paperbag. At least GSC or TGV gives you a cardboard packet.

So, managed to get in the cinema anyway and the Hitz.fm guys started announcing the winners for the contest. Adam C announced my name and presented me the prize. It was a "Hasbro IronMan Stark Industries N.R.F 425 Blaster" which really translates to a bloody big toy gun for me.

So anyway, the movie was awesome. It did live up to its trailer. Although, I didn't quite like the starting. It was a little plain and not creative introduction. You know where they start showing the cast names. The best laugh I had was when the translation/subtitle for IronMan showed ORANG BESI! LMAO!

I would say that if you have been reading the synopsis and story on characters online, you would have a hard time figuring out the baddie in the movie. If you hadn't, then I guess you would've pretty easily guessed the bad guy.

It was totally awesome to see the technology portrayed in the movie. Dig this, individual lab robotic arms which understands human speech, and I'm not saying like keywords kinda speech, but everyday informal speech. And there was a computer system which could work for men, help bulid the suit and some building technology which is so cool if you were a tech freak.

The fight scenes were almost like transformers only on a smaller scale, but I must say, the flight scenes and the missile shooting were out of this world.

I would recommend this movie to all those who loves superhero action coz this has a slight possibility to believe in. I mean, it could happen. For me, watching it again, I say why not. I would. Hope you enjoy the movie.

Exams over!!! IronMan's here

YESS!!! Exams are officially over, and now just waiting to graduate and get my diploma. Finished at 11 am this morning.




Oh, it wasn't a perfectly great morning after that anyway. You see, the exam venue this morning was in block PA, and only cars with staff car stickers were allowed to park around there. Well, I thought guards would be busy patrolling the halls instead of clamping or chaining cars who parked illegally. Well, from where I sat in the hall today, I could very well see my car and 20 minutes into the exams, I could already see a pink coloured paper on my windscreen. I was like oh damn. My car's got chained!! After that, the exam mood was lost and I kept staring out my window. Anyway, manage to do it well.




After exams, went out of the hall and true enough some of my friends cars got chained and fined. I quickly went to check my car and was surprised it wasn't chained. Then I realised my rims has hole which are too small for the chain to go thru!! Woohoo!!! (Another proud moment for owning a KANCIL!) LOL!!!




Oh by the way, guess what happen yesterday? I got a call from hitz.fm saying I won two tickets to watch IronMan tonight!!! Its Tuesday the 29th!!! Gosh, a sneak premier?! I'm gonna be one of the first in Malaysia(probably the world) to watch it!!!




Oh, maybe I should tell you how I won or else you'll be thinking I got help from my cousin again. Well, I was bored after studying two days ago, I surfed the web and thought hey, since IronMan's going to premier, surely Hitz.fm or Mix.fm's running some contest. So I went to http://www.hitz.fm/ and true enough they had an IronMan competition going on. Now, I did have quite some faith in these online contests coz I won a few things before.

So, what I had to do was either draw my IronMan interpretetion or create an IronMan feature such as a gun, a mask or even a suit. And then I was thinking, why put out effort last time to waste? I submitted a photo of ou IronMan suit which we made for our assignment. Great!
